Jesus Christ
Christ sits at the center of the table, with 6 apostles
on either side. In the sorrowful moment just after making his
shocking announcement, his gestures symbolize the Eucharist,
thus uniting the dual meaning of this Supper. He looks longingly
at the loaf of bread that he reaches for with his left hand,
while reaching with his right hand to a bowl and a cup of wine.
Both he and Judas will place thier hand in this bowl, thus identifying
the betrayer |
